I truly am going to miss him...he was a great man; one I am proud to have known and to have been considered a friend of.

Dear Mary Jo and Family,
I received word today that your father, Joe, had passed away. We met and I got to know Joe in the context of The Westerly Hospital. His questions during Board or Committee meetings were always thoughtful and thorough and often challenging. I always appreciated the little wink he would give after becoming satisfied that his question was adequately responded to--which by the way might take some time. He cared deeply about The Westerly Hospital and took his role as trustee very responsibly. He also would often say "you and your team are doing a good job...keep it up"...encouraging words from a man whom I respected.
While Joe had a good long life we are never prepared for parents not being there any longer--so your loss I am sure is profound. Please take comfort in knowing your dad had great energy and a spirit for life and what he was doing and did. He was very proud especially of you and your daughters...as he would always say.
Susan and I send our sincere sympathy to you and your family. Joe will always hold a place of fondness for me in my life's experiences...a smart man with a really neat smile and an enthusiasm for life.

I was just talking about Joe last weekend with Patsy Tenuta. Joe was a nice man who always had a smile and a hello for almost everyone he met. Although I haven't seen him in years, that is one thing I will always remember about him. My sincere sympathies to Mary Jo and Victor. Joe will be missed.
