Lani was always an inspiration as she put in her whole heart and soul as she directed our choir at the First Christian Church back in the 1960's. I always think of her every time I drive out of the Post Office, knowing that she lived on that street. Praying for all the family in their loss.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Lani after she retired from teaching, as she shared her knowledge and skills by serving as a judge at 4H Events and also serving as a member of the Collier County 4H Advisory Committee. She brought her contagious enthusiasm and love of learning to all that she did. My heart goes out to her family at this sad time. May Lani's Soul Rest in Peace.

To Malia and your family, I'm so sorry for your loss. It was so enjoyable teaching with Lani at Seagate for many years. She gave her all for the students and they truly loved her. They were able to perform at many places in Naples for which they will always remember.
Thanks Lani for so many wonderful memories.

She was one of my favorite teachers growing up. I'm so happy I go to go back to Seagate as an adult and tell her how much she meant to me.

I had the honor of teaching Loni's former students when they came to Pine Ridge MS. She did a fantastic job getting students engaged in music. Her contagious love of music helped thousands of students become well rounded and many continued their music studies throughout their high school years. Collier County was blessed to have her teaching talents.

I am deeply sorry for the families loss. Mrs. Overton was my music teacher at Seagate Elementary from Kindergarten through 5th grade (1989 to 1995). She was an amazing teacher who inspired her students to develop not just a love for music but also for singing. She challenged us to step out of our comfort zones and learn instruments like the harpsichord, recorder, ukulele, and even the guitar in an after school enrichment class. Mrs. Overton, I will never forget how you pushed me to try harder or take a risk and sing the pumpkin halloween song. You inspired me to learn to play the viola; I will never forget your love or passion for music that you instilled in me.

Lani gave the gifts of art and science in her skills and devotion of teaching music! She was a treasure for the expansion of planting the seed for the love of music! Those seeds are now far and wide. But the Joy they bring elevates humanity with soul centered appreciation! Thank you, Lani, for your generous spirit!

Lord bring Blessings to the Family and Friends of Lani. A Special Lady who loved her FCC family. Always wanted to share what she could with those in need. Enjoyed going to Dorcas meetings when she felt up to it and going to FCC with us ladys and then going to lunch together.
Love Joy Peace and Strength to her family at the time of her Homegoing to be with the Lord Jesus.
God Bless
