Dear Mr. Hadsell,
I am so sorry to learn of your loss. I only met Mrs. Hadsell briefly (we were at a wedding at the club and you were having lunch), but she struck me as a very classy lady. We are so glad you found each other!
I am sorry that this is the only way I can write to you as I haven't had your address for some time, but we wanted to extend our sympathy to you and your family. You have a special place in my heart.
In sympathy,
