Mary J. Ciaramello Marco Island, FL
Mary J. Ciaramello, 96, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2014.
She was the beloved wife of the late Edward M. Ciaramello and was predeceased by her brother, Frank DiMarzo.
Born in Hartford, CT the daughter of Pardo and Julia (DeCubellis) DiMarzo.
Mary graduated from Central High School in Providence, and attended the University of Rhode Island.
During World War II she was an Administrative Engineering Aide for the Navy in Newport, RI.
Mary and her husband owned and operated Statesman Hardware in Providence until retirement.
Mary was active in many charitable organizations, including The Women's Youth League Of Rhode Island.
She enjoyed golfing, painting, and writing poetry. She was recognized for her accomplishments with The Marco Island Shell Club, The Calusa Garden Club, and The Cranston Garden Club.
She is survived by a son, Edward M. Ciaramello Jr.; a granddaughter, Christine Cornell and a great granddaughter, Lily Cornell; a sister, Cristine Silvestri; a sister-in law, Agnes DiMarzo; two nieces and several nephews.
Internment was on March 7, 2014 in the Marco Island Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, and to promote future concologists, Edward is requesting donations be made in her memory to The Marco Island Shell Club, P.O. Box 633, Marco Island, FL 34146, (scholarship fund).
