Naples, FL
Merle Hadley McClintock, 96, passed away July 23, 2018. Merle was born May 30, 1922, in
Lamberton, MN, but spent most of his life in Farmington, MN, where his parents moved when he was a small child.
During WW II Merle honorably served in the Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bunker Hill, CV-17. He married Rose Mary Rother of Vermillion, MN in 1946; he was employed by the Milwaukee Railroad and Amtrak as an engineer.
Merle is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Rose, parents Jesse O. & Clara (Moug) McClintock, brothers, Russell & Glenn and son-in-law David Sandberg.
He is survived by his daughter Cheryl Sandberg, grandson Eric Sandberg and his wife Helen, brother Jesse Jr., sister Thelma Filibeck, great-granddaughters Hannah & Bailey, in-laws LeRoy Rother, Bernice & Dean Falls, Mary (Eugene) Rother, and many nieces and nephews.
Mass and burial will be at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Vermillion, MN, at a later date.
We wish to express our gratitude to the staff at Juniper Village and Avow Hospice for their loving and gentle care of our dad/grandfather.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Merle's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 660 Tamiami Trail N., #21, Naples, FL 34102 or Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Ln., Naples, FL 34105, will be appreciated.

My love and condolences to Cheryl & Eric on the loss of this dear man. I know you were so devoted to your dad and grandpa and will miss him dearly. I have never seen a daughter so caring and watchful a parent than you where Cheryl. I'm sure David, Dwight and Merle are sharing stories in heaven.
