Michael Stuart Borowsky Naples, FL
Michael Stuart Borowsky, 70, of Naples, FL, passed away on June 25, 2014.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 5, 1943. Michael graduated from Northeast High School and received a doctorate degree in mathematics from Drexel University.

Michael worked for the Department of Defense at the Naval Safety Center as Head of the Statistics and Mathematics Department for over 30 years. He also taught statistics and other mathematical courses at many prestigious universities.
Michael was athletic and enjoyed jogging, playing tennis, baseball and basketball. He also loved to watch all sports, but one of his favorite pastimes was to cheer for his favorite ice hockey team.
Michael could often be found at the beach, enjoying the surf, sand, and sunsets.
But, most of all, Michael loved his family and spending time with them.
He was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Betty Borowsky.
Michael was survived by his wife, Marilyn Sirota Borowsky; children, Matt Borowsky (wife, Hazel) and Michele Borowsky Warner (husband, Doug); his grandchildren, Rachel Lily Borowsky and Cole Martin Warner; and his sister, Sharon Borowsky Kaytes (husband, Harold).

Marilyn, Matt and Michele, I was thinking about Michael and thinking about our times together in Virginia Beach. My favorite memories were: 1) the time Michael ran a marathon (26.2) without training and finished with a respecatable time; 2) watching Michael leave for work with a tennis racket and gym clothes instead of a brief case; and 3) meeting at the beach to watch the sun rise, followed by breakfast. Although his years were cut short, the memories are long. I'm sending lots of love in your direction. Love, Brenda

Marilyn & Family,
Larry and I were saddened to read of Michael's passing. Larry has continued to visit our "extended family" at Harbor Chase after Uncle Paul passed last year and has missed seeing Michael recently. We always appreciated Michael's smile and gentleness.
May God comfort your hearts and lift you up knowing that Michael is free from the struggles of this life.

Marilyn, Matt, Hazel, Rachel, Michelle, Doug & Cole,
We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Mike. He was such a cheerful, fun and loving person. No matter what the activity...enjoying happy hour at the Residence Inn as we were relocating to Naples, taking in a Jethro Tull concert with other hippies, seeing the Roller Derby Girls in all there glory, watching the Florida Everblades hockey team, enjoying a Naples sunset on the beach, showing us his dance moves at a moments notice, or simply breaking bread together...we always enjoyed the company and shared many, many laughs together. We will miss him but will cherish all the wonderful memories he gave us.
May you and the entire family find solace and comfort during this difficult time.
Peace,
M & M

I was a graduate student at the off-campus site at Naval Station Norfolk where I earned a Masters in Safety from USC. Mike taught us the two required courses in statistics. They were 2 of the 3 most difficult courses I have had (the other being Physics in undergrad for Med School). Mike was a true gentleman and put his all into a difficult subject. How many times I remember him getting basketball into his lecture. "You take 10 free throws..." I was in awe that anyone could have a PhD in math. I continue my interest in Aviation Safety by being active in the Hampton Roads Association of Naval Aviation. Mike served his country well at the Naval Safety Center, where we held our classes.
I will have a plaque engraved in his memory at the Naval Aviation Memorial here at the ocean front in Virginia Beach.
From high school I learned Latin and had a license plate "Dominus Tecum" - God be with you! Now you are with God, Michael, and enjoying your eternal reward. May God be with your family and friends who miss you so deeply.
