Peter Quail Obituary

Peter Quail

Naples, FL

Peter Quail, 75, passed away November 12, 2017. Peter was born in New Bedford, MA on May 31, 1942 to Mary Bandera Quail (deceased) and Joseph Red Quail (deceased).

Peter was a graduate of New Bedford High School class of 1960 and later attended St. Lukes Nursing School in New Bedford, MA. He furthered is medical training studying anesthesia at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Upon completion of his anesthesia studies Peter enlisted in the United States Air Force.

Peter married Judith Santos Quail of Acushnet, MA in November of 1963. After serving in the USAF Peter and Judy moved to Acushnet, MA. It was in Acushnet that Peter raised and doted on his two children, Amy Quail of Tampa, FL and Matthew Quail of Andover, MA. Peter provided a wonderful home life for his family and was the best father any child could ask for.

Peter and Judy moved to Naples, FL in 1992 where he continued to practice anesthesia until he retired in 2006.

Healthcare was Peter's profession but he was a care giver in all aspects of his life. He was a kind and generous soul that dedicated his life to ease the suffering of others. After retirement, Peter continued his passion for healthcare as an educator and instructor. When not in the classroom, Peter loved to play golf or practice his long shots at the driving range.

But even more than golf, Peter loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughter Amy, son Matthew married to Tiffany Broaderick Quail, and his three grandchildren, Caroline, Nathaniel, and Eleanor Quail of Andover, MA who all adored their grandpa. Additionally, Peter is survived by his brother John Quail and wife Cindy Quail of Dartmouth, MA, and numerous nieces and nephews to whom he was so much more than an uncle. He is predeceased by his sister Tomasina Quail Zeigler, and brother George Ashley Stack.

As we celebrate Peter's life his request would be to focus on music, singing, joking, and especially laughter. His idea of an Irish wake was a celebration of life. In his words, the goal is to be in Heaven for three days before any fallen angel is aware that he's passed.

In lieu of flowers, Peter would instead want donations to the American Heart Association. A special tribute page that highlights his connection with heart disease can be found at:
