Vincent Giannone Marco Island, FL

Vincent "Jimmy" Giannone passed away Sunday, August 8th, 2010. Born to Rose and Liborio Giannone in Brooklyn, NY on September 12, 1920; Vincent was a veteran of WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

Jimmy's profession until the day of his retirement at 81, was a barber. After the war, Jimmy married Isabella Lombardo. Jimmy, well known as "Jimmy the Barber" was also known as "The Mayor of Huntington Station" due to his community and political activism. In 2008 they moved to live with his son, his wife and two grandsons on Marco Island, FL.

Vincent is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Isabella; his two sons Barney and Joseph; their wives Deborah and Therese; and their three grandsons, Barney Jr., Vincent and Joseph.

Funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 13th at 11:00 a.m. at San Marco Catholic Church, 851 San Marco Rd. Burial will follow in Marco Island Cemetary.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 12th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Hodges Josberger Funeral Home.

Joe ,Therese , Vincent and Joseph and to all the special friends and family that we met this week-end at the Memorial for Mr.Vincent Giannone.
It is a honor to be a part of this Special Family . The love that all of you showed as a family was really astounding , Vinny would be real proud because thst was what he was all about.
