Carl Sikes Obituary

Carl Russell Sikes, Jr., affectionately known as "Peewee," passed away June 12, 2025 at the age of 81.
He was born to Carl Russell Sikes, Sr., and Ethel Lee Sikes of Hilliard, Florida on Jan. 5, 1944, and was a lifelong resident of Hilliard. Russell was a man distinguished by his relentless work ethic and his profound commitment to instilling the values of hard work and discipline in his children.
Russell's legacy is carried forward by his four children, Bo Sikes, Robin Shores (Joe), Randy Sikes and Crystal Price (Terry); along with his seven grandchildren, Adam Sikes (Alexandria), Victoria Poole (Chad), Kaseylynn Oyler (Josh), Alayna Holmes (Tyler), Ashtyn McClung (Shane), Dusty Price (Kelli) and Cheyanne Dunbar (Dylan). He also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren. His family extended through his marriage to Clara Guynn-Sikes, gaining three stepchildren, Patricia, Barbara and Gerald. Russell passed alongside his wife Clara and stepdaughter Barbara. Russell is survived by two siblings (sisters), Marlyn Nye and Sherry Chancey. He was predeceased in death by his brother, Barry Sikes.
Throughout his life, Russell was a passionate outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, farming, and his cattle. These activities not only provided him with a sense of joy, but also allowed him to spend his days doing what he loved. It also served as a conduit through which he shared valuable skills and knowledge with his family and friends in hopes that they would pass his teachings on to other generations to come.
Russell's family will hold a celebration of life in his honor at 5 p.m. July 5 at the recreation house "Rec House" that he had built for the family to gather, reflecting his love for family and togetherness.
His guidance and teachings have left an indelible mark on those he loved and he will be remembered with great respect and affection.

To Russells family, I was so stunned when I found out about the passing of Russell. When I heard about the accident I had a sinking feeling I knew it was someone I knew. He was a good man and always had good things to say to me. I am so sorry for your loss. I will be in town this week and hope to make the memorial service
. My prayers are with all of you and I pray God's grace and peace over all.
