Meryl Vallar Obituary
Meryl Manchee Vallar, 90, beloved mother and grandmother, died peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2022.
A resident of New Canaan for over 50 years, Meryl was most recently living at BrightView on New Canaan, Norwalk, Connecticut. She was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey to Fred and Gladys Manchee, on May 27, 1932.
Meryl graduated from the University of Delaware. She worked in Human Resources for Xerox and Times Mirror for many years. She was a member of the New Canaan Congregational Church, New Canaan Beautification League and AAUW. She was a passionate gardener and enjoyed making beautiful flower arrangements for her sister and many friends.
Meryl is survived by her two children, Cindy Vallar (husband, Brendan Binder) who resides in Henderson, Nevada and her son, Scott Vallar (wife, Hatsy) who resides in Charlottesville, Virginia, three grandsons, whom she adored, Jack (28) Vallar, Doug (27) Vallar and Teddy (25) Vallar and her sister, Gail Mapel now residing in New Castle, New Hampshire.
A private memorial is planned. Donations in memory of Meryl, should be sent to the New Canaan Congregational Church.

To Cindy Vallar,
I remember your Mom and family from when we (Parrises, Mitchells, Powells, Johansens, Vallars, Daughns) all moved to New Canaan around 1966. We had so many fun times together! I am so sorry for your loss of your Mom! So many great memories!! She was the one who kept in touch with those who moved away and would tell us friends all the latest news! Pamela lives in Sparks, NV. Love to you, Prudy and family
