Nancy Sanford Pullins passed away peacefully at home in New Canaan on Sunday, Dec 18, 2016 surrounded by family and friends after a long and brave battle with cancer She was 69 years old

Cherished wife of Jerald Pullins for 44 years, loving mother to Jerald Pullins Jr (Jessie), Catherine Miles (Scott), Amanda Fend (Nate), adored sister of Jeffry Sanford (Cynthia), beloved Nanny to Levi, Crosby and Ford Pullins, Brooks and Hudson Miles and Caroline and Sloane Fend, beloved aunt to Jill Burrows (Aaron) and Julie Sanford, much-loved daughter of the late Jeanette (Velma) Sanford and late Bernard Sanford (Dorothy), and cousin of Judy Gerry, and Brad and Doug Beechen

Born in Sioux City, Iowa, Nancy met Jerry in Houston where they married and lived before moving to Winter Park, Fla and finally to New Canaan, where they raised their children and have lived among dear friends for over 37 years

Nancy loved spending time in their home on Nantucket and more recently was happy to be spending time with many close friends in Jupiter, Fla She was a talented interior decorator who received great joy in helping family and friends create beautiful homes She also provided care to those experiencing difficulty in the community as a member of the Stephen Ministry at the Congregational Church of New Canaan

Nancy's world was her family She spent all of her time thinking of her family and friends, showing her deep love for them, and finding joy in every moment she spent with them, from cherished vacations with her grandchildren, to winter nights at home with Jerry by the fire, to special outings and traditions with friends As a mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Nancy was deeply loved and could make an ordinary day full of joy and love

Over the past few years, as she bravely fought her battle with cancer, her strength, positivity, selflessness, and faith inspired all those around her, down to her doctors at Mass General who she managed to make laugh and admit that they had never met anyone quite like her

Nancy will be truly missed and always close in our hearts and memories We would like to thank the many friends who served as angels by her side and all of her doctors, especially the incredible team from Mass General who gave her hope and comfort as well as the loving nurses who sat by her side in the final weeks

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Jan 7, at The Congregational Church of New Canaan at 11 am
