Patricia Rodriguez Darden Walker passed away on Wednesday December 11 in the comfort of her home. She was 93 years old.
She worked as a flight attendant for National Airlines in the 1940s. Those were early days for commercial air flight and Mom reveled in the adventure.
Mom was a loving and compassionate mother who always held her children responsible for their actions. As her children grew, Mom developed a passion for flower arranging & gardening. She was truly gifted at both endeavors and was happiest when her hands were in soil.
Mom and Dad moved from New Canaan CT to Florida when Granville retired. They built a beautiful home on the Indian River, which was a paradise for her children and their families to visit. She loved taking her grandchildren to Disney World, and gladly rode on every ride with them!
Mom and Dad moved to Windsor CT in 2012. Once her new gardens were established, she resurrected a neglected garden at the Senior Center. She had to climb through a window to get to the garden, but was undaunted - much to the dismay of her family!
A memorial service will be held in New Canaan, CT in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to Northwest Park and Grace Episcopal Church Food Pantry, Windsor, CT.
