Robert Wynne Jones
Robert Wynne Jones, 60, of New Canaan, CT passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2023. He was born in Dallas, Texas to Gordon and Marilyn Jones. Robert was the beloved husband to Floriana DiFulvio Jones of New Canaan. Robert worked many years in sales for Forbes and was a VP Global Group Publisher at Asset International. Robert had many gifts and interests but most of all he enjoyed the gift of friendship of many. He was a warm and welcoming soul who passed his love of sports onto his two children, Maggie and Robby. From recreational soccer and football teams to travel baseball, Robert always jumped at the opportunity to volunteer coach for the New Canaan community. Coaching, for Robert, wasn't all about the trophies. Instead, it was about building team chemistry, sportsmanship, and most of all, having fun. Robert is survived by his son Robby Jones and daughter Maggie LaRosa (son-in-law, Alex, and grandchildren Gabriella and Ruby). Robert's siblings, Lanah Holden (husband John, nephews Taylor
and Wynne), Lee Jones (wife Claire, nieces and nephews Sally, Marcy, Gogo, Page and Shafer), John Jones (wife Beth, nephews Alex and Wade), Penn Jones (wife Erin, nieces and nephew Hayley, Whitney and Holt).
A memorial service for Robert will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, from 09:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. For online condolences, please visit www.hoytfuneralhome.com

They say that time heals all wounds... unfortunately we did not get to see that play out. Perhaps when we meet again we can change that. We had some good times.

So sorry to hear about Robert's passing. I resonate with Lisa Jennings' post, as we were all neighbors and had lots of fun and yes, shenanigans growing up on Lake Wind. He and John came by the Lake Wind house many years ago with their kids to say hello and trick or treat on Halloween. That was a very nice thing to do.

To the entire Jones clan,
I just heard today of Robert's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. Although i moved from new Canaan when we were in 8th grade, those few years carry my fondest memories of the many Lake Wind shenanigans and terrific times. Robert was always at the center of the fun and playfulness: hockey on the pond, flashlight tag and kick-the-can, as well as football on the Wells' lawn. Penn,

John Krieg here. I have lived in Texas for the last ten years and have not been in touch with many from the New Canaan area for quite some time. I heard about Robert a couple days ago and my heart broke for Robert and Flo, you, John. Lee and Lana. I haven't had the privilege of meeting any one's children or grandchildren, but I have been praying for your family since I heard what has happened. These days people throw around the statement "I love you" all the time. I do not.

That being said, I loved Robert and have love for you and John and Lee and Lana because she is your sister, though I barely knew her. Growing up with you guys was awesome. Knowing Robert, and you and John and Lee was a gift and a privilege. I wish I could have spent more time around all of you and have our families know each other well. I know Robert is with Jesus Christ and Gordon and Marilynn have their arms wrapped around him.

My prayers are for you and the rest of the entire family, as you are the ones left here on earth to deal with the pain and loss. I choose to remember that Robert was an awesome, gifted human being that touched A LOT of people's lives and made a difference in many ways.

I miss knowing he is not spreading his love, talent and energy throughout the day here, on earth. I am deeply sorry for your loss of Robert. I will pray for you and the family continually for GOD to constantly bless you folks and guide you and get you through this time. Please let the rest of the family know there are many, many people that loved Robert and have prayers and care in their hearts for all of you.

I just want to say that Rob Jones was a great man and when I moved into New Canaan, he excepted me and my family and help me out X potentially the route my kids careers in sports and family living in the town of New Canaan

Oh, he was also able to parlay his raw athleticism into becoming a pretty decent paddle tennis player in his 30's, even though he had zero history of any racquet sports! Amazing..... that too was Robert Jones!

I was in my bedroom @ The SchaefDOME when I heard a 35 yr old RoBERT bounding up the stairs.......then he burst into my room, proceeded to do a Thunderroll onto my bed, and smashed the boxspring to smithereens! After a few moments of shock & awe, instead of me screaming at him we both fell into a full minute of riotous laughter! That was Robert Jones! He will be sorely missed & fondly remembered. I love you, man.
