Suzanne Wall Obituary

Suzanne M. Wall
Suzanne M. Wall of New Canaan, CT and formerly of Greenwich
Suzanne M. Wall, known as Suzie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. She never lied about her age, never shared it willingly, and certainly isn't going to reveal it now. Suzie was born in Port Chester, NY and is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Theiss Nolan Maxcy; and father, Thomas Maxcy, her two brothers, Douglas and Hilary Nolan. She is also survived by many dear friends in awe of her indomitable spirit, and passion for bright colors, including her signature candy-cane red cowboy boots.
A self-starter, Suzie was attracted to self-made women and had the privilege of playing crucial roles in their businesses, including Germaine Monteil, Helena Rubenstein, and Martha Stewart. Commuting from Connecticut to New York City daily did not slow Suzie down, since she lived to work. Known for staying active, she was drawn to charitable initiatives, including maintaining the Nolan Foundation, in memory of her brother Douglas, volunteering at the New Canaan library and at the New Canaan Thrift Shop.
Suzie's hobbies included gardening, cooking and entertaining, animals, (especially her dear sweet cats, Shelly, Bear and Blue), traveling the world, sketching, inventing, and dreaming. Suzie will be remembered for being perfectly turned out for any occasion, with her charm and personality arriving before she entered the room. Mostly, her determination and willingness to help others will always leave a warm memory. When others may have faltered, Suzie moved forward with unflappability and humor, and brought us all along for the ride.
Her friends are her family, and we adore our hot-pink lipstick wearing Suzie. She touched so many lives who are better today for knowing her. We love you, Suz, and know this isn't goodbye, but 'til we meet again.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held in the Spring of 2022.

Your footprint will always remain on and in my heart. Thank you for leaving years of memories for me to hold near. We [Kate and Sarah too] know your smile and laughter will remain with us forever - 'The Girls'. I love and miss you .. one day we'll meet up again and pick up where we left off. Heaven is sunnier now with a New Beauty of an Angel. Bless you my treasured one.
