JILL SOWARDS Obituary

JILL SOWARDS 05/05/1958 - 10/14/2025 Jill Annette Sowards, 67, of Rolla, Mo., passed away on October 14, 2025, at Phelps Health in Rolla. She was born on May 5, 1958, in Nebraska City, Neb., to Louis and Dorothy Boeche. She met and married her beloved husband, Dean Sowards, September 7, 2022. Jill is survived by her loving husband, Dean Sowards; two daughters, Auburn Bolte (Matthew) of Hickman, Neb., and Caitlin Cunningham (Grandon) of Denver, Colo.; brothers Raymond Boeche (Nancy) and Jim Boeche (Annette), both of Lincoln, Neb., and Thomas Boeche (Cathy) of Nebraska City. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Reese Bolte and Quinn Bolte, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Dorothy Boeche. Jill had a truly unique outlook on life and a wild sense of humor that could brighten any room. She was an avid baseball fan, always cheering on her beloved New York Yankees. Known for her green thumb, she loved tending to her garden and flowers, taking great pride in the beauty she cultivated around her home. A wonderful cook and homemaker, Jill delighted in preparing meals for her family and friends. From cooking to beekeeping and gardening, she was always active and dedicated to the many tasks that supported her family and homestead. She also enjoyed shopping - whether it was a quick trip to a local store or an extended shopping adventure, she found joy in it all. Music was another passion of Jill's; she often filled her home with the sounds of her favorite rock bands, including AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. She also adored her animals - dogs, chickens, and many others who were part of her life that she enjoyed over the years. Above all, Jill's greatest joy came from her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending their school events and activities, and creating special memories during the holidays - especially Christmas and Thanksgiving, which were her favorites. Jill will be remembered for her humor, her generous spirit, her love of life, and the devotion she showed to her family and friends. A Celebration of Life to honor Jill Boeche Sowards, will be held October 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hickman Community Center, 115 Locust Street, Hickman, NE 68372.
