Janet N. Winnie of Tunkhannock, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at United Methodist Homes, Tunkhannock.
She was born in Jermyn, and was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C. Winnie; her parents: Jerome and Maude Grosvenor; and brothers: Roswell and Roderick Grosvenor.
She attended the Hartford schools and was employed as a nurse at Tyler Memorial Hospital. She attended Eaton Baptist Church in Tunkhannock.
She leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Memory and Bruce Arrowood of Sebring, Fla.; two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law: Earl and Teresa Arrowood of Milton, Wis., Bruce and Kathy Arrowood of Clarks Summit; four great granddaughters: Amanda, Nicole, Kimberly, and Madison; two great-grandsons: Tyler and Connor; three step grandchildren: Anna, Andrew, and Robert; as well as several great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of the United Methodist Homes in Tunkhannock, where she was a resident for the past five years. Their kindness, patience and compassion will never be forgotten. Also, a special thanks to Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the devoted and compassionate care they provided during her final months.
Friends may call at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga Street, Tunkhannock on Saturday, July 30, from 9 until 10:15 a.m. A funeral service will immediately follow conducted by Pastor Leslie Bullock of the Tunkhannock Presbyterian Church. Pastor Bullock will also preside over a graveside service at the Forkston Cemetery at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Methodist Homes, 50 W. Tioga Street Tunkhannock, PA 18657, or Hospice of Sacred Heart, 340 Montage Mountain Road, Moosic, PA 185097.
