Joseph Rexford "Rex" Lott Jr.

Joseph Rexford "Rex" Lott Jr. of Meshoppen died Monday, April 20, 2009, at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock. He and his wife, the former Martha Swartz, celebrated their 50th anniversary on Sept. 6, 2008.
He was born in Kingston, son of the late Joseph Rexford Sr. and Nellie Holley Lott.
He was a 1955 graduate of Meshoppen High School. He was a retired technician at Procter & Gamble, Mehoopany. He attended Retta United Methodist Church and the New Hope Ministries of West Auburn.
Rex was a member of the Susquehanna County Pomona Grange #7, South Auburn Grange and Lawton Senior Citizens Center, and was an active member of the Relay for Life Foundation. He enjoyed making maple syrup with his friend Thom, and hunting and fishing with his grandsons and nephews.
Surviving is a son, Joseph III, and his wife Amy of Auburn Center; two daughters: Tammy Schaeffer and her husband Robert of Standing Stone Township, and Karen Adams and her husband Grant of Meshoppen; grandsons, Wyatt Adams, John and Aaron Lott, Robert Schaeffer Jr.; a granddaughter, Amanda Adams; his extended family, Ginger Shadduck and Louise Hicks; two sisters, Rose Himel of Louisiana and Nellie Cokely of West Nicholson; two brothers, Charles Siracuse of Scranton and Dan Siracuse of South Montrose; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Apr. 24, at 11 a.m. at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
Interment, Retta Cemetery, Susquehanna County. Friends may call Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. and 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
