Robert Sands Obituary
He was born in Falls on August 6, 1939, son of the late Emerson Sr. and Annabelle Durling Sands.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by Airport Sand and Gravel in Duryea for 40 years. Bob also worked as a self employed Truck driver and enjoyed hunting, gardening and being with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son Thomas; and brothers Jack and David Olmstead.
Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Dorothy Keithline Sands; sons: Robert of Laceyville, David of Falls, Ronnie of Dallas, and Stanley of Falls; daughters: Bonnie Sands of North Grove, Conn., Diane Sands of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Rosemary Hallock of Tunkhannock, and Alice Barrett of West Wyoming; brothers: Stanley Sands of Tunkhannock, Wayne Sands of Meshoppen, Emerson Sands Jr. of Dimock, James Sands of Laceyville, and Larry Olmstead of Tunkhannock; sisters Shirley Houser and Donna Etheridge, both of Kentucky; 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are today, Wednesday, Apr. 28, at 11 a.m. from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
Interment will be in Perrins Marsh Cemetery, Centermoreland.
