Shelby J. Rivera, 85, of Factoryville, died at Mountain View Care Center, Scranton on Tuesday Sept. 28, 2021.
Born in Molus, Ky., on Aug. 5, 1936; she was the daughter of the late Kyle and Blanche Burgan Daugherty.
She worked at Ray's Supermarket in Factoryville. She enjoyed playing bingo, loved watching the Chicago Bears, and enjoyed listening to The Oak Ridge Boys.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain View Care Center and Dr. Michael Kondash and staff for all the care they had given Shelby over the years.
Shelby was preceded in death by her parents; and her two nephews: Dean Austin and Brian Parrott.
She is survived by two sisters: Sharon Bray and husband Charles of Factoryville, and Patsy Parrott of Benham, Ky.; a brother John Daugherty and his wife Nancy of Long Beach, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Oct. 5, from Anthony P. Litwin Jr. Funeral Homes Inc., 33 Reynolds St., Factoryville, with Pastor Paul Fields officiating. Interment was at Evergreen-Woodlawn Cemetery, Factoryville.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Shelby was a lovely lady with a wonderful sense of humor and fun. We understand how difficult the last few years have been, but take solace that Shelby doesn't have any confusion or discomfort any longer. May she rest in peace.
