William Thomas McNeice (Dougher) 60, of Jackson Township passed away at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024.
He was born in Portsmouth, Va., on Aug. 11, 1963. He is the son of James M. Dougher Sr. and Catherine A. Gray Dougher.
He was a veteran in the United States Army. While in the Army, William was a chemical, biological and nuclear warfare specialist. He was awarded a good conduct medal, Army service ribbon, an overseas ribbon, and MLRS ribbon. He was very proud of his accomplishments within the Army. William owned and operated McNeice Flagstone LLC. He adored his dog Hank and Cat named 'Cat.
He enjoyed his motorcycles, especially his Harleys. He loved hunting and tinkering with automobiles of all kinds. William loved spending time with his children, grandsons, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Daniel and Timothy.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter Haley McNeice-Meshoppen, his son Axel McNeice-New Milford. Two grandsons; Conner and Ryker. Sisters; Veronica (John) Rood-Hallstead, Andrea (Patrick) Rogers- South Abington, Tammy Dougher-Scranton, Amanda (Troy) Leslie-Okinawa, Christina (Kevin) Mitchell-Moosic. Brother; Randy-Scranton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Geisinger CMC and Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore for providing the best care for William.
A memorial service will be held at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga Street, Tunkhannock, with military honors on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 6 p.m. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.
