Carol Jones Obituary
NEWARK: Carol (Chaney) Jones, 75, was a caring, kind-hearted soul who left this earth to be with her Ronnie on April 22, 2016. She was loved by all who knew her. She was born on December 6, 1940 in Newark, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ronald Jones and her three brothers Robert, Joe, and David Chaney.
Surviving her are three children, who she loved with all her heart, Mike Jones, Jeff Jones and his wife, Theresa, and Ann Harper, all from Newark.
Also surviving are four grandchildren whom she cherished, Adam Waites of Newark, Justin Jones and his wife Hillarie, and her children Gabby, Dillion, and Kendall of Dickinson, Texas, Tyler Jones and his fiancee Laura Pastorius of Newark, and Cameron Jones of Newark.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her and had the privilege of knowing her. Carol had a tender heart that was reflected in all that she did. She could touch your heart by just touching your hand. Carol was an avid, avid reader, and enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre. She was skilled at stealing the deal. Carol loved spending time with her family and friends.
Church visitation hours will be on Tuesday, 4/26/16 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a memorial service immediately following at 7:30 pm at the Marne United Methodist Church at 1019 Licking Valley Rd. NE Newark, Ohio 43055.
The family has requested that In lieu of flowers, donations be made in Carol's memory to the Newark Public Library or the Newark Food Pantry.

Ann, Mike, Jeff...My heart goes out to you in the loss of your mother. I was unable to attend the calling hours, so I sincerely hope you get my condolences. I have nothing but good memories of each of you and your mom. She was so encouraging and supportive of everything you all did. We shared a lot of good laughs during your middle school years and even later on. I know you will miss her dearly. You were blessed to have her! Carol and I went to high school together and worked our first job at Ohio Power Co. Was a good friend and remember her as being vey kind and soft spoken. I know she will be sadly missed.

We spent a lot of time playing cards a Chaney family tradition, Family reunions at Hoback park, and babysitting all of you when your small. I worked with Carol years ago at Ohio Power Co in Newark, Oh. She was a fun person to know and work with. When I heard the name Carol Jones I was hoping it wasn't her. She will surely be missed. .She and Ronnie were such nice people. Now they are together again. Prayers for all the family.
