David Clapp Obituary

NEWARK: A funeral service for David A. Clapp, 50, of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
David, a finance manager for Coughlin Hyundai, passed away Friday August 13, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born Friday, January 13, 1960, in Ravenna, Ohio to David K. and Linda J. (Stanley) Clapp of Newton Falls, Ohio.
He was a 1978 graduate of James A. Garfield High School in Garrettsville, Ohio. He was a member of the Newark Eagles. He was a big Cleveland Browns football fan. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, cruise ships, cookouts with his family, and he was a hard worker who truly loved working.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Marie (McAllister) Clapp; children, Jennifer Clapp, Adrienne (Christopher) Tice, Cassidy Clapp, and David N. Clapp all of Newark; step-children, Christine Caudill of Newark, and Janie Scott of Lancaster; sister, Dorothy Whitten of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren, Tatum, Jaidyn, Noah, Loralei, and Landyn; step-grandchildren, Larissa and Kristofer; special friend, Melanie Clapp of Newark; and may other dear friends.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark. A Newark Eagles service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, or to the James Cancer Research Hospital.
