Emma Kim Richmond

Emma Kim Richmond, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2003. Kim was born in Poth, Texas on November 28, 1933. She moved to Arizona in 1967 from San Antonio, Texas. She was a homemaker choosing to stay home and raise her two children. Once they were grown, she worked as the Personnel Director for Broadway Southwest department store and then at St. Joseph's Hospital in the nurse recruiting office. Kim "retired" from there, but never stopped working. Her feistiness, spirited attitude, and love for life led her to the dance floor where you could find her country swinging with her husband. She also worked for temporary firms when she wasn't traveling, vacationing, and enjoying life. Kim was diagnosed with cancer in October 2000 and fought with determination and dignity. People would say, "You would never know she was sick." She was a classy woman with the ultimate poise and grace. She is survived by her husband, Dave; daughter, Kay Richmond-Lewis; son, Kyle Richmond; sisters, Mary Estrada of Chicago, IL and Gerry Zuniga of San Antonio, TX. A memorial service will be held at the Hansen Chapel, 8314 North 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ on Wednesday, January 29, at 1:00 pm. A luncheon reception will take place following the service at Royal Palms Baptist Church located at 8802 North 19th Avenue.
