Grant Richard LaRue

ST. LOUISVILLE: A funeral service celebrating the life of Grant Richard LaRue, age 79, of St. Louisville, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will follow at Barnes Cemetery where the Licking County Veterans Alliance will conduct military honors.

Richard passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015 at his residence. He was born November 28, 1935 in Newark, Ohio to the late Noah and Rilla (Smith) LaRue.

Richard was a carpenter who enjoyed working in the construction industry for many years. He enjoyed cutting firewood, splitting trees, farming and in his younger days, roller skating. He proudly represented his country serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by a son, Thomas G. LaRue of Coshocton; a daughter, Tanya (John) Babcock of Columbus; a sister, Ada B. Roberts of Newark; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Walker; five brothers, Gilbert La Rue, Donald LaRue, Art LaRue, Bob LaRue and Jenoah LaRue; three sisters, Edna Wright, Hazel Crampton and Frances Adam.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, October 12, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058.
