James E. Clark

HEBRON - A funeral service celebrating the life James E. Clark, 88, of Hebron, will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kirkersville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Pastor Kae Merold and Rev. M. Stephen Merold officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkersville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 285 E. Main St., Kirkersville, on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

James was born in Elliott County, KY on July 25, 1929 to the late Dennis and Cloma (Ison) Gillum. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on January 15, 2018.

Prior to retirement, he worked for Rockwell International for over 30 years. He loved farming, raising his crops, pigs and cattle. He enjoyed traveling in his motorhome with his wife, Gracie and also enjoyed listening to Keith Whitley and bluegrass music. He was a former member of the Millersport Lions Club, where he volunteered at the Sweet Corn Festival and was a former member of the Buckeye Lake Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Gracie M. (Johnson) Clark whom he married September 17, 1949; children, Linda (David) Van Dyke, James "Fred" (Linnette) Clark and Timothy E. (Suzie) Clark; sister, Blanche Pennington; half-brother, Russell (Marla) Gillum; grandchildren, David, Debra, Tracy, Tiffany, Kevin, Ashley and T.J.; fourteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Hazel Blevins and Ruth Stapleton; and half-sister, Janet Hayes.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of James to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

So sorry to hear of your loss. It also never ceases to amaze me to find out who all are related to each other, Linda (David) Van Dyke and Russ (Marla) Gillum of who I worked with Dave Van Dyke and Russ Gillum and grew up with Marla (McFarland) Gillum. God with you all.
