Janet Fischer Obituary
NEWARK: A graveside service celebrating the life of Janet L. Fischer, age 82, of Newark, will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, at Dale Cemetery in Connersville, Indiana.
Janet passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Arlington Care Center. She was born November 4, 1934 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Thomas H. Corwin and Kathryn (Baker) Kriegbaum.
Janet grew up in Springfield, Ohio. She graduated from Springfield South High School in 1952. After high school she worked for the Granville Public Library and the Newark Air Force Base in Production Control where she retired in 1993 after 23 years.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, scrapbooking, gardening and was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. She also enjoyed playing card games with her family and listening to music.
She is survived by her husband of forty-nine and a half years, Joseph L. Fischer, whom she married May 27, 1967; two sons, and Gary D. Whitbeck of Holiday, FL, David J. (Monica) Fischer of Princeton Jct., NJ; three daughters, Diane R. Whitbeck of Hopewell, VA, Cheryl A. Fischer of Blacklick, OH and Patricia L. Fischer of Newark, OH; two sisters, Linda Brinkman of Huntingdon, TN and Carol Reeves of North Royalton, OH; her grandchildren, Kayla and Lauren Hill, Isabella and Clara Fischer, Bruno and Lucas Bitencourt and one granddaughter on the way.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas M. Corwin.
