John came to my rescue, by plowing out my drive, shortly after I moved in. He reminded me a lot of my own father. I will miss his smile and that little twinkle of orneriness in his eye. The swing looks so empty. My thoughts are with the family. He will be missed!

John caught me swimming in his creek one morning with my best friend Julius. He informed us that the creek was not clean and offered both of us a job painting his fence. He cared so much about his community and especially his neighbors. He remains a great influence on me and others whom were blessed to know him

A wonderful neighbor who was always the first one out to plow everyones driveway. When I moved to the area almost 29 years ago, he came by with his best friend Jerry to introduce themselves and offer to help put up fencing for my horses. Thoughts and prayers to all the family.

Uncle John always did for others, and expected nothing in return. He was an exceptional human being. His goodness and his infectious smile will be missed by his community and his family. Rest in peace, Uncle John. The Guthrie family

A light has certainly been extinguished with John's passing. Owens Corning was made bearable , in part, by John's presence. A good guy and the life of the party! Rest in peace John, I hope you got that blue paint off!
