Rickey Blackburn Obituary
PATASKALA: Rickey "Rick" Stephen Blackburn, 63, of Pataskala, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011. He was a US Air Force Viet Nam veteran. Rick loved golfing, fishing, and football, especially his Buckeyes.
He was a Clinical Specialist in cryo-medicine. Rick was very proud and thankful to have the opportunity to play a small part in the saving of many lives from cancer through cryo-medicine. Rick had a wonderful and full life, filled with love, adventure and happiness. He was a great friend to all and never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by parents Willie and Lena; brother Don; best friend and brother Bob Trivett. Rick is survived by his beloved wife Debra; children Tracy Craig (Delbert Peters), Michael and Chad Blackburn; grandchildren Jared Craig, Shayla Peters, Kadie and Ashley Blackburn; sister Nancy (Nolan) Traylor; brother Frank (Eileen) Blackburn; sister-in-law Leona Blackburn; best buds Brad Barr and Bernie Cabungcal; four-legged son Rudi; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Family will receive friends 5 - 7 p.m. Sunday at Cotner Funeral Home 7369 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Wheelersburg.
Those who wish may contribute in Rick's memory to the American Cancer Society. Messages may be sent to family at www.cotnerfuneralhome.com.
