Vic Leogrande coached me and my brothers Mike and Brian at Mound City Little League. He was a great coach and a very caring person who taught us about baseball and life lessons. He led us in prayer before games asking us to be good sportsmen, to be protected from injury, and to be positive. Many times after practice if our parents were late he would take us to his home to wait for them, have something to eat and I often remember him promoting Vitamin C and encouraging us to drink orange juice. I remember being impressed by the trophy cases in the living room, and having fun in the back yard playing wiffle ball with Ralph and Joe and other Rockwell team mates. Mrs. Leogrande and the whole family were kind caring and great people that brought a sense of joy, happiness and extended family to all of us.

My heart sank when Tommy called and told me Vic had passed. Vic took care of us from Mound City ,High School, and life.We become part of the family from playing basketball at the Union hall.to pick up wiffal ball in the back yard.Ending with our pizza and subs dinners. Vic was more than a coach he was my mentor and Dad. Vic will always be in my heart.love you all Chris

Vic was a blessing to every boy he helped and coached during baseball. He was a calm man and a blessing to our family. So glad I got to visit him when I was there in July. RIP sweet man and many prayers to all the family.
