She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a former member of Annunciation Catholic Church, Havelock. She was a member of the Civitan club in Havelock.
She is survived by two sons, Timothy G. Burgess of New Bern and Thomas L. Burgess of Wash-ington, D.C.; one daughter, Sharlene Burgess-Foley of Havelock; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Cotten Chapel. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at New Bern National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, 3505 Country Club Road, New Bern, NC 28562.
