Austin Sherron Obituary
His funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, at Glad Tidings Church with Tim Marriner officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
He was a two-year captain on East Carteret High School baseball and basketball teams, the baseball team's MVP his junior and senior year, the basketball team MVP his senior year and soccer MVP his sophomore year. He was all conference, conference player of the year, and all state baseball player his senior year, in which he also led his team in ERA and strikeouts. In 2006, he helped lead his American Legion Post 46 team to the N.C. State Title.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sharon and Jason Yeomans of Morehead City; father and stepmother, Scott and Tammy Sherron of Havelock; two sisters, Karlie Yeomans and Olivia Yeomans, both of Morehead City; brother, Griffin Sherron of Havelock; maternal grandmother, Freida Price of Morehead City; maternal grandparents, Donnie and Frances Yeomans of Beaufort; paternal grandmother, Jean Sherron of Newport; and paternal grandparents, Willie and Hoa Shelley of Havelock.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday, at the church.
Family welcomes flowers, or memorials can be made to the Austin Sherron Memorial Fund, c/o Glad Tidings Church, 4621 Country Club Rd, Morehead City, NC 28557.
