She served as a member of the Sunshine Group, Kitchen Staff, Sr. Choir No. 2, Deaconess Board, Stewardess Board No. 2, and Woman Home and Overseas Missionary Society in faithful service at Clinton Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.
Her funeral will be conducted at noon, Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Clinton Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church with the Rev. Jace L. Cox, officiating. The interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Alfrie E. Kelley Jr. of New Bern; daughters, Twyla K. Bolling of Fort Washington, Md., Dedra Kelley Carr of Branchville, S.C., and Carole Kelley Downing of the home; one brother, Albert Whitfield of Grimesland; and one sister, Charlotte W. Sims of Forest Heights, Md.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, at Oscar's Mortuary and other times at the residence of Carole and Simeon Downing, 1609 Concord St.
Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, at Oscar's Mortuary and at the church one hour prior to the service
