She was a longtime member of Bethany Christian Church where she served as a member of the women's fellowship and a youth leader. She was also involved with the Christmas and Easter programs as well as Bible school. She worked side-by-side with her husband, Robert H. Hardison, on their farm.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert H. Hardison and Caroll Eldridge.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Harvey Hardison Jr. of Oriental and Fredrick T. Hardison of Kennels Beach; two daughters, Annette Hardison Aldridge and husband, Goethe W., of Arapahoe and Judy Jones and husband, Luke, of New Bern; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 13, at Bethany Christian Church with the Rev. Merritt Watson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Dr., Greenville, NC 27834 or The American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1834, Merrifield, VA 22116-8034.
Arrangements are by Bryant Funeral Home & Crematory, Alliance.

I don't have words to say that can sum up what Clara meant to our family, or to express our heartfelt condolences to you all. She was not only a friend, but a mom/grandmom away from mom/grandmom! We will truly miss her and will always have such wonderful memories.
