Darrell Heath

VANCEBORO - Mr. Darrell Heath, 78, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Greenleaf Memorial Park with Pastor Dwight Williams and his nephew, Blaze Hill officiating.
A native of Jones County, Darrell was born to the late William and Annie Jenkins Heath. He was a graduate of Jones County Sr. High School. For many years he worked for Stanley Tool Company (now Bosch Power Tools) in New Bern. In addition he was engaged in farming for many years. He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist in Trenton where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and also sang in the choir. He later attended Calvary Baptist Church in Kinston.
Darrell will be fondly remembered for his strong faith and work ethic. He loved his family, enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, hunting and reading his bible. The beginning of a new day was a favorite of his and he got up early most days. A loving son, husband, brother, uncle and friend, Darrell will be missed greatly by those that knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by a sister, Bertie Heath Sutton and a brother, Rodney Heath.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean Heath; sisters, Linda Sue Jarman and husband Alton, Joyce Whaley; brother, Walter Heath; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Sutton all of Trenton; uncle, Bruce Jenkins of New Bern; and sister-in-law, Linda Moore of Smithfield.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
