Edward Duetsch Obituary

Born May 23, 1923; Deceased May 4, 2015
Ed served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and Korea. In 1985, Ed a former IBM employee of twenty-nine years, retired to Fairfield Harbour from New Jersey. During Ed's retirement years, he enjoyed golf and tennis and was an active member at the West New Bern Presbyterian Church. Ed was also an active member of the New Bern Lions Club and was past president. Ed also served for many years as a board member and treasurer of Tideland Electric Co-operative. As a Presbyterian Lay Minister, he served at Wanoca Presbyterian Church in Washington, NC and Jason Presbyterian Church near Kinston, NC.
Ed was predeceased by his wife Lucille of 67 years on January 18, 2015 and his eldest daughter Anne D. Kravitz in June 2014. His surviving family includes a daughter, Marjory (Richard) Praml of Winchester, VA; a son, Edward J (Esther) Duetsch of West Falls, NY; and son-in-law Howard Kravitz {late Anne D} of South Carolina. Grandchildren include Heather Scarlett Kibler, Richard D Praml, Jared N Kravitz, Meribeth Alabaugh, and Rebecca Keisling. Great grandchildren include Katarina Kibler, Kristianna and Tara Praml, Nic Christiansen, Jack and Katherine Kravitz, and Ashleigh, Hannah, Brady, Ella, & Adelynn Keisling. Surviving nieces and nephews are Alan Ryder, Martha Ryder, Bonnie (Jim) Cooke, Robert Duetsch, and David Duetsch.
A private family service will be held at a later date.

We are saddened to learn of the death of our friend, Ed. We shared many wonderful memories with him and Lucille. They loved their children and grandchildren so much. Our heartfelt and sincere thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this time of loss.
