Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010, in the New Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Daniels, pastor, officiating. Interment immediately followed the service in the church cemetery.
A native of Darlington, S.C., she was a graduate of Hartsville High School and Florence Dar-lington Technical College. She was a member of the Northside Gospelette Choir, the Young La-dies of Society and previously a member of Bell Fork United Church of Christ in Jacksonville. She was employed with Moen Incorporated of New Bern for more than 14 years.
She is survived by one son, Jarre Simone Bishop of Jacksonville; her mother, Lugenia Bishop of Hartsville, S.C.; siblings, Willie Bishop, George Bishop and Marilyn Gerald, all of Hartsville, S.C., and Linda Belton of Columbia, S.C.
