I heard the sad news through my brother Mike. The Taits were our wonderful next door neighbors in Ohio late 60's/early 70's. As a teenager, I had a huge crush on the handsome older boy next door. Through the years Mike has kept me up on the events of Terry's life; the entries here bear out what a special person he was. I am saddened by the early loss of Terry, and my thoughts and prayers are with all the family.

I was very saddened to hear of Terry's passing. Terry and I went to high school (Alter H.S.) together and were roommates freshman year at Miami University. We spent a lot of weekends together at that time going to sports car races. Although we lost contact over the years, I still appreciate our times together. He was always a good friend. I wish peace and comfort to his family at this difficult time

To the Tait family,

I did not know Mr. Tait. In fact, I'm not sure I was ever formally introduced to him. But what I did know about him was his generosity to Craven Community College. Through his, and Mrs. Tait's, gifts to the college and the Lifetime Learning Center, he touched more lives then he would ever know. By just this one act, I could tell he was a great man. Fostering the arts in New Bern and sharing them with us all. Please accept my condolences on your loss. May God's peace be with you.
