Walter McKeithan Obituary
He was a veteran of World War II and was formerly employed with Bosch Power Tools. He was a member and former deacon of Rio Grande Missionary Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rio Grande Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Marcus Miller officiating. Burial will be in the McKeithan Family Cemetery with military honors.
He is survived by his eight sons, James McKeithen, William McKeithen, Nelson McKeithen, Bobby McKeithen, Lester McKeithen, Walter McKeithen III, Michael McKeithen and Michael Rivers, all of New Bern; three daughters, Ida Williams and Gloria Cherry, both of New Bern, and Dollie Washington of Dover. Del; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and seven great- great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence. Viewing will be at Oscar's Mortuary Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and at the church an hour prior to the service.
