Don Mohler Obituary
Don Burton Mohler Jr.
NEWBERRY — Don Burton Mohler Jr., 73, of Newberry and formerly of Ft. Myers, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at MUSC.
Born on June 1, 1940, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Don Burton Mohler Sr. and May O'Bannon Mohler. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and was a Navy veteran who served as a radio operator on the USS Meredith. He was a former employee and programmer of Modern Air Conditioning of Ft. Myers, Fla. and retired as owner and designer of LORDACS Software. Mr. Mohler was a member of The Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Newberry where he was active in Sunday school and the Friday Morning Men's Group. He was a member of the Mid-Carolina Country Club where he was a member of the Hackers and Senior Groups. Mr. Mohler was a pilot and former flight instructor.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mohler; a son, Don Burton (Lynn) Mohler III of Newberry; a daughter, Kathy (Doug) Wicker of Newberry; a step-daughter, Trina (Scott) Reisch of Denvor, Colo.; a sister, Sylvia (Stan) Carlson of Dalton, Ga.; grandchildren, Devin Price, Sarah Mohler, Laura Mohler, Noah Mohler, Jonathan Reisch, Caroline Reisch, Sam Reisch and Shawn Wicker and nephews, Eric, Tony and Andy Carlson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at The Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Newberry by the Rev. Mantle Nance. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will Friday from 6-7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the church general fund, 1701 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
Active pallbearers will be Eric Carlson, Tony Carlson, Andy Carlson, Dean Wise, Edwin Wicker, and Steve Anders.
McSwain-Evans Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. A memorial message may be written to the family at www.mcswainevans.com.

Don and Shirley are both well respected and long time members of the Modern Air family. Don approached anything he did with a great deal of intensity and integrity. He and Shirley spent many selfless hours envisioning and creating what our company has come to be. They were both integral to our success. Those of us who worked with Don in the extended Elliott-Lewis, Modern Air, and Anderson Air family will keep Don and Shirley in our prayers.

Don was a true old school Southern Gentleman. He could make me laugh in the middle of a problem and make the problem less significant. I appreciated and valued him as a dedicated co-worker.
