As many have already said, we enjoyed the beauty and wonder of Alan's blog as he graciously included us all on his every adventure - it was a special blessing that will be missed. Our prayers are with the family and those who shared so much with Alan via the blog or on the stream with him. I was particularly blessed to share a couple of outings with Alan, and so I submit these photos for your enjoyment. Mike

My Deepest Sympathy to the Petrucci family. Alan's beautiful blog, Small Stream Reflections was a piece of home for me during my 3 years in Afghanistan and subsequent years in Iraq. He was a true master of life, always positive and uplifting.

My Deepest Sympathy to the Petrucci family. I knew Alan only through his blog which I discovered in 2014. Being a senior in my later 70's, I've mostly sheltered in during the Covid pandemic. It was always a joy to find a new post from him in the mornings. I felt as though l had traveled to that setting on the stream that day. The friendly demeanor of his prose, and his fine photography revealed his love and respect for nature. I will miss him. Alan and all of your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Prayers to Alan's family at this sad time. I only knew him from his blog, but he made you feel like he was a good friend. I will miss his stories, his passion for the small brooks streams and his pictures of flies, fish and food. Thank you Alan, for sharing a bit of your life with your fellow anglers. RIP

"Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it." Hebrews 13:2

Dear family, with Small Stream Reflections Alan entertained many people he never met including me. He wrote beautifully and I felt like I knew him. As small stream fly angler in New England I always kept an eye out for his signature license plate thinking one day I might just meet him on a thin blue line somewhere. I am so saddened by the news of his passing and I will truly miss reading his thoughts and seeing his photos. I grieve with you and I pray that God will give you all comfort at this time.

My most sincere sympathy on the loss of Alan. I have been a follower of Alan's adventures on Small Stream Reflections and will miss him dearly. His photos were always beautiful and the ones of the food he made always made me hungry. I came in from fishing for wild trout here in NJ this afternoon and as I often do, signed on to the blog to learn of his passing. Fortunately, he has left you with plenty of memories to keep his spirit alive!

It is fitting that Alan's final post was "Home Waters". He is now returned there to be remembered by all who followed him. We both shared a love of bamboo and fished with it for many years. Tight Lines.
