Rejoice with me for on October 7, 2025 I have gone home and I am reunited with my beloved Guimont Frenchy! I was very proud to share my June 15th birthday with my dad, Irving Haviland (1917) and my sister Ann Haviland Suarez (1942). I joined the group on June 15,1947. Oh, and the year that I was born, that June 15th, was Father's Day!

Geraldine, Jerry Borg Haviland was my beloved mom. I was the second big sissy to Nancy Haviland Taylor and the proud mom to Christian and Michelle Carrier and David Carrier. John and Dr. Tim Suarez, Michael and Tammy Carrier, and Jennifer O'brien called me Aunt Ellen.

Church played a central role in my life. From 1947 to 2016 I worshiped at Bristol Baptist

Church. I sang soprano in the choir and played the bells. I served on the Board of Christian Ed, Music Committee, and Board of Deacons. I also taught Sunday School for over 30 years. In 2016, God led Gui and I to First Congregational Church UCC. I had the best time serving on the Fellowship Committee and played Hand Bells. I was so happy to be a part of the Sunshine Group where we net monthly to make cards for the homebound and those in need of a caring message. I also served as Program Director for the Women's Guild.

In April 2001, I was hired to be the Special Ed Para at Jennings School. That was the

best job I ever had! We worked with the most amazing group of kids from K to grade 5. Many years later, students would tell me what a difference I made in their lives. I had that position until I retired in 2012 when Jennings closed.

I was a life-long cat lover. I've done foster care and found homes for many sweet faces who wandered my way. I could often be found in my kitchen mixing up a quick batch of brownies, cookies, or a coffee cake. I also inherited the crocheting gene from both my grammas. My Aunt Janet passed along her sewing talent. Many folks have benefited from cooking, baking, sewing, and crafting talents and it gave me such joy to make others so happy.

Please physically hold your loved ones close every day. Tell people how much you love them. Write letters, make phone calls, and keep in touch. We are not promised tomorrow.

A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 31 Maple St., Bristol, on Saturday, November 1st at 2:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to leave a condolence message by visiting www.dupontfuneralhome.com
