Genowefa Bartkowicz Obituary
She was a beloved wife of the late Marian Bartkowicz for almost 50 years, born on Aug. 9, 1921 in Dickson City, PA to Genowefa and Kasper Harchut.
Her parents returned with her as a small child back to Poland. Genowefa returned to the United States in 1972 and resided in New Britain for the rest of her life.
She was a devout Catholic. Her love of nature, flowers, and gardening was evident the moment you stepped foot in her backyard. Family meant everything to Genowefa.
She leaves behind her loving daughter Andrea Sidur, son-in-law Kazimierz Krajewski (Danuta) and daughter-in-law Sophie Bartkowicz.
She had 10 grandchildren, Anna Zuccalo (Jim), Robert Sidur, Lydia Sidur (deceased), Eric Krajewski, Lillian Bartkowicz, Lorraine Krajewski, Dorothy Weber (Stephen), Thomas Bartkowicz, Ashley Bartkowicz, Daria Krajewski-Lisiecki (Wojciech), and eight great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister Bronislawa Zygnerski and brother Jozef Harchut (Maria) and many nieces and nephews.
Beside her husband she was predeceased by her beloved daughter Danuta, beloved son Ryszard, son-in-law Stanley Sidur, three sisters and brother.
Calling hours will be on Sunday Jan. 16, 2022, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT 06053.
Family & Friends are requested to meet at Holy Cross Church, 31 Biruta St, New Britain, CT 06053, on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022 at 10 a.m. for the Funeral Liturgy.
Burial will follow immediately after liturgy at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 662 Burritt St., New Britain at 11 a.m.
