Krystyna Sliwka

Krystyna Sliwka, 76, of Berlin, passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Ryszard J. Sliwka for 36 years before his passing in 2011. Krystyna was born in Poland on July 30, 1946, daughter of the late Teofil and Rozalia (Romanowska) Dabrowski. She became a teacher in Poland before immigrating to the United States in 1966. Krystyna and Ryszard were married in 1975. She was a devout member of Sacred Heart Church in New Britain and had a long career working for Stanley Works.

Krystyna was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her daughters Diane Sliwka and her husband Pedram Aleshi, and Ella Ainscough and her husband Ryan; grandchildren Lily, Ania, Owen, and Maya; brothers Henry Dabrowski and his wife Ela, Ted Dabrowski and his wife Eva, and Stanislaw Dabrowski and his wife Basia; and sister Wladyslawa Scibek. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Jan Sliwka and his wife Danuta of Poland, and Lech Sliwka and his wife Ewa of Poland; and sister-in-law Krystyna Sliwka, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her brothers-in-law Stanislaw Sliwka, and Bolek Scibek.

Her happiness was her family, especially her grandchildren, her deep lifelong friendships, and her faith. She is remembered by her boundless love, selflessness, and generosity.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Krystyna's family on Friday April 14th, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ryszard, in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
