Richard Prior Obituary

TERRYVILLE

Mr. Richard Dean Prior, 96, beloved and devoted husband of Anna May (Lawson) Prior died peacefully at The Pines at Bristol on Friday April 26th. Born in Morrisville, VT on April 19, 1928, he was the son of the late Archie Glenn and Winnifred (Sias) Prior. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was a retired inspector from Fafnir Bearing in New Britain. Besides tinkering in his basement and working in his garden, Richard was an avid Ham & CB Radio user. Most of all he loved God, his wife and his family. He was a member of the Valley Community Baptist Church in Avon and prior to that the Advent Christian Church of Bristol.

In addition to his wife Anna of 68 years, left to carry on his legacy are his six children, Richard M. Prior & his wife Karen, Sandra Lentz & her husband Kenny, Beverly Sobota & her husband Thomas Jr., Dawna Prior, Kenneth Prior, and Carolyne Kapros & her husband Charlie, his nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, his two sisters Ramona Torrey & Barbara Snide and several nieces & nephews.

Richard was predeceased by his brothers Maurice & Clyde Prior, sister Isabelle McKinney, nephew Glenn Prior and granddaughter Alyssa May Prior.

Calling hour will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1st at Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Burial will follow at Peacedale Cemetery in Bristol. Visit www.lyonsfuneralhome.com for online condolences and directions.
