Ronald Tilden Obituary

BRISTOL

Ronald P. Tilden, 86, of Bristol, beloved husband of Francis (Bostwick) Tilden, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Bristol Hospital with his wife by his side. He was born in Hartford on February 10, 1939, son of the late Paul F. and Eve (Moquin) Tilden.

Ron proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged. He was employed at The Hartford insurance at the age of 17, before being drafted for the war. He was also a member of the American Legion. Ron enjoyed going to Seaside Heights, NJ, Point Pleasant, NJ, Cape Cod, MA, Hampton Beach, NH and along the coast of Maine with his wife. In retirement, Ron found enjoyment in feeding the critters around his home including the squirrels, chipmunks, and birds.

Besides his wife, Francis, whom he happily just celebrated 62 years of marriage with, Ron is survived by a brother-in-law,

Danielle Bostwick, and his wife Mary; his second cousins, Jeff Scott and his wife Kim, Marianne McNeill and her husband Chris, Fran Scott and his wife Joy, and Hil Scott; his third cousins, Ken Scott and his wife Madu, Katie Hamzy, Natalie Scott and her boyfriend Dan, Christine Norton and her husband Patrick, Matthew Scott, Mallory Scott and her boyfriend Will, Justin McNeill and his wife Liz, Scott McNeill and his wife Stephanie, Ryan McNeill and his wife Julia, Richard Scott and Emily Scott; his cousins-in-law, Debra Beaudoin and Jay and Pat Bostwick and few more cousins. Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his infant son, John Ronald Tilden, his wifes parents Francis and Mary (Sakowski) Bostwick, his sister Elizabeth LeBeau and her husband Homer.

The family would like to thank Bristol Hospital staff for their kindness and care during Ron's last hours.
