Warren Brayton Obituary

PLYMOUTH

Warren C. Brayton, 76, of Plymouth, husband of the late Camille (DelPrincipe) Brayton, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, at home with his family by his side. He was born October 12, 1948, in Bristol, son of the late Charles Brayton and Pauline (Gordon) Delano.

Warren proudly served in the US Marines during Vietnam and received a total of 3 Purple Hearts. He graduated with honors from Central CT with a Bachelor's degree and then continued his education, earning several other degrees and licenses. He worked for many years as an engineer but had always loved big machines and digging in the dirt, so he started his own excavating business: Brayton Construction. Warren grew up on a farm and had a green thumb for growing a garden. He loved woodworking in his workshop and having all the kids in the family make their own wood projects every year. He had the gift of gab and was known for having a bunch of fun-facts that he would quiz people with. He loved Vermont, his wife's Italian cooking, machines, and most of all his family.

Warren leaves behind his daughters, Cayla O'Connell and her husband Christopher of Bristol and Heather Brayton of Bristol; his son Daniel Brayton and his wife Katie of Oakville; his grandchildren, Camila and Cason O'Connell, Dylan Brayton, and Gavin and Bria Brayton; his siblings, Helen Lavigne and her husband James, John Brayton and his wife Jill, James Delano and his wife Christine, Mark Delano and his wife Lisa, Raymond Brayton, and Willaim Brayton; his ex-wife Karen Brayton and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Besides his parents and his wife Camille, Warren was predeceased by his stepmother Mary Brayton, his stepfather Alton Delano, his siblings, Charles, James and Cindy Brayton, and his aunt who practically raised him, Gladys.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, 10:30 a.m., at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St, Terryville. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Terryville. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 5-7 p.m.. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
