William Diaz Castillo Obituary

NEW BRITAIN

William Diaz Castillo, 50, passed unexpectedly July 27, 2024, at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT. William, lovingly known as Pito by his family and friends was born in New Britain, CT on July 11, 1974. He was pre-deceased by his parents, the late Jose Diaz and Marisol Castillo. He was also pre-deceased by his loving maternal grandmother, Annie Castillo, his paternal grandparents, and his special aunt Myrna Castillo. He is survived by sons William Diaz of New Britain and Angel Straughn Diaz of Louisianna; brothers Jose Diaz of Hartford, Jorge Heredia of Massachusetts and sisters Vanessa Santos of Hartford and Tanairi Morales of West Hartford. He also leaves behind aunts Alma Castillo of New Jersey and Marisela Martinez Castillo (Jose) of Florida; uncles William (Willie) Castillo of Meriden with whom he shared a special bond and David Castillo of Florida; his maternal grandfather William Castillo of New York and a host of nephews, nieces, and many cousins including special cousins Humberto (Berto) Rodriguez and

Anthony Martinez.

William genuinely cared about others and had a loving and giving spirit even towards strangers. He will be remembered as fun-loving, having an infectious laughter, and one who loved family. He enjoyed reminiscing and telling stories about the past of his beloved grandma, Annie, and other family members. He loved auto mechanics and found much joy in cooking and would relentlessly try to get other family members secret recipes. During his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and watching football and was a die-hard 49er's football fan. He leaves with us many fond memories and will be sorely missed. There will be no calling hours. Services will be private.
