Joan Bell Obituary
Joan Bell, formerly of New Milford, CT, passed away on June 13, 2015. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 22, 1932, the second of four children to Charles and Elizabeth Hildenbrand. Her family moved to New Milford in the 1940's where she attended New Milford High School. She married John Bell, Jr. in 1950.
In 1976, Joan & John Bell, Jr. started a retail scuba store in Brookfield called "The Diving Bell". Joan continued operating the Diving Bell until she retired in 1996.
Joan is survived by her three children, John Bell III and his wife, Sheila of Middletown, CT; Joy Miller and her husband, Patrick of New Smyrna Beach, FL; and Jeff Bell and his wife, Cindy, of Sanford, NC, as well as seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her oldest grandchild, Douglas, pre-deceased her in 1981.
Please join us for a memorial Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford, CT on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 9:30am. A light repast/reception will immediately follow the service in the parish hall.

I just heard of Joan's passing at mass this evening. I am so sorry I missed the memorial mass this morning. I always picture Joan with that beautiful smile and her soft and kind welcoming spirit.. My condolences to all her family...I know she will be greatly missed.
