It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of
Tom Fisher, 64, of New Milford, CT who was taken from us much too soon to a four year long and harrowing battle with brain cancer. Despite the challenges that the cancer brought, Tom continued to view life through "rose colored" glasses, always looking on the "bright side of life" and never losing his love for life or his sense of humor.
Tom graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School in 1977 and went on to proudly become a Master Electrician and fulfilled his dream of owning and operating his own business by creating, Advanced Electrical Services, Inc. in 1986, without any business plan. He was extremely humbled by his successful business and the friendships he made with his customers over his 37 years in business.
Tom was a passionate and deeply caring husband, father, grandfather (Beebe), son, brother and friend. Tom is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sue, two dearly loved daughters, Kara Street of Warren, CT and her husband, Jason, who Tom considered a son never a son-in-law and Morgan Fisher of Roxbury, CT. He leaves behind his four granddaughters who were the absolute loves of his life. His siblings, Mike, Bob, Cathy, Ann and Paul along with Harry Lewis and Kevin Ford who Tom always thought of as his brothers. He was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy (Kolak) and Robert Fisher.
Tom will be deeply missed by family, friends and all that were fortunate enough to know him which are many, as he was very well known in his community through his business and the vast amount of time he gave supporting the town that he was so proud to call home for 64 years.
Per Tom's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Pratt Nature Center in New Milford where two of his granddaughters attend school.

Sue & family, I’m so sorry for the passing of Tom. I was a longtime friend of you both. Tom was one of my first employees of my electrical contracting company back in the early eighties. He definitely was a pillar of the community and a dear friend of mine! You’ll be missed.

Sue,Kara and Morgan I am very sad to here the news of Tom's passing. I had the great opportunity to initially work with Tom who would not only pick me up on the way to work but most importantly take the time to teach me all about electricity. I have found memories of working hard then taking the time to have fun doing things like waterskiing. Every day with Tom was new adventure no matter if was work or play.
Sue no situation is the same but I also lost my spouse and found that nothing will be back to "Normal". As time moves on you will be creating the "New Normal" for your family and then most importantly yourself.

To the entire Fisher Family:
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Tom. Over the years, I met Tom in the field on numerous electrical projects, while I worked at CL&P in New Milford dealing with electrical problems and housing developments. It was ALWAYS a pleasure dealing with Tom. After we took care of business, then he always found time to talk about family and vacation times!
A true gentleman always, will always be my memory of Tom. Rest in peace my friend.

My brother, my best friend how does one say goodbye to that one special person in their life that meant so much to me. There are no words that can express my feelings for you. I´ll miss you more than you could possibly know.
Thank you for your friendship for the past 54 years. I know that there aren´t many people in the world that get to experience that kind of friendship, how lucky were we.
