Linda Gail Norton, age 76, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
She was a member of Lincoln Avenue Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Norton; parents, Roscoe and Vestena Franklin; son, Ronnie Lee Norton; daughter, Mary Ann Norton; brothers, George L. Franklin, Dewey Franklin, Oscar Franklin, and Clyde Franklin; sisters, Betty Parks, Lucille Southerland, and Elizabeth Metcalf; father-in law and mother-in-law, Roscoe and Mary Ellen Norton; and daughter-in-law, Lynn Norton.
She is survived by her sons Benjamin Joseph (Heather) Norton of Newport, Keith Norton of Parrottsville; brother, Johnny Franklin of Parrottsville; sisters, Barbara Crum of Newport, Vergie Melton of Afton, TN; grandchildren, Benjamin Joseph Norton, Jr, and Kaylee Norton; also other family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Friday, August 18, 2023 at Manes Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Lincoln Avenue Church of God, with Robert Johnson, Terry Franklin and Kenneth Norton officiating.
Burial will follow in White Cemetery in Parrottsville.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice or the Serenity House in Morristown, TN.
